17th December - Cheque Presentation
A cheque was presented to each of the three cadet units that attended the Masonic Classic Car run as detailed earlier in the log. The presentations were made by Mr Michael Roalfe Provincial Grand Master at Freemasons Hall, Leicester.
A much appreciated Thank You to all the sponsors and participants of this event.

 

3rd December - Quiz Night Fundraising
Another fun night with special guest Santa ('Saint Nick-olas' Miles) as the question master.

28th October - Tiger Regiment fundraising event
T.S.Tiger attended the fundraising event for the Tiger Regiment and the Space Centre where we performed our famous 'Death of Nelson' and provided a Guard of Honour. This was held at the National Space Centre in Leicester

 

16th October - HMS Raleigh
The Weaver gang
Twelve cadets from T.S.Tiger went on a unit continuation training event to the National Sea Cadet Training Centre, at the navy's training establishment HMS Raleigh,  Torpoint, Plymouth.
And once again we came back with the Weaver Trophy (fastest time over the obstacle course, we were also runners up for the Vigilant Trophy (best unit) - Well Done

 

 

 

11th October - TS Tiger AGM
The Annual AGM was held in the ward room, committee elected for the coming year:

2nd October - Leicester Marathon
 Wet Hands are the order of the day.Once again T.S.Tiger was happy to assist at the drinks stations at the annual Leicester Marathon organised by Birstall Running Club. in aid of the Rainbows and LOROS charities... Read more here

Advancements
Able Cadet E Meakins and Able Cadet L Smith attended the Leading Cadet advancement course at HMS Caledonia, we are pleased to say they both passed.

 

17th September - Recruiting at Rothley Youth day
 The event was to raise money for a youth club in Rothley and we went there with the intention of raising our profile and recruiting some new cadets.

 

10th & 11th September - Leicester Riverside Festival
The Viking Power boatT.S.Tiger was invited to attend this event to act as safety boat for the event organisers. The ASC and the Viking were both in use, unfortunately it rained all day Saturday although Sunday was better with the sun coming out just before we left... Read more here

3rd September - Masonic Classic Car Rally
Guard of HonourT.S.Tiger along with T.S.Venomous and T.S.Amazon were asked to provide a Guard of Honour for the classic car rally as they set off from the Freemasons hall in Leicester.

Also there was the Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire,
The Lady Gretton, who started them all off. Lady Gretton chats to the Cadets
The rally was one of many throughout the country who were all making their way to London for a larger get together. The rally raised money for NSPCC...Read more here

July 10th - Race For Life
TS Tiger is proud to be involved with the Race For Life event, we assisted by marshalling the route. The event which is held in aid of Cancer Research was on Western Park, Leicester

 

June - Thrapston Weekend
Another successful visit to Thrapston with plenty of boating hours achieved.

 

May 26th - RNI
The Annual Royal Naval Inspection took place, A good turnout of parents and invited guests were entertained by an excellent and funny evolution explaining the difference between Officers' and ratings' ration packs. Our re-enactment of The death of Nelson was performed by the ship's company and the juniors gave us an evolution about what they had learned about the country code

May 19th - Mayor making ceremony
Cadets were invited once again to attend the Mayor making Ceremony held at the Town Hall Leicester where Councillor Mary Draycott was installed as the new Mayor of Leicester,
We wish her every success for the forthcoming year.

 

May 15th - T.S.Tiger Challenge Walk
This was a 10km sponsored walk organised by UMC member Nick Miles. The walk was to raise money for both T.S.Tiger and Cancer Research UK. The walk was well attended with hopefully a sizeable sum of money raised.

 

April 23rd - Thrapston Weekend
The cadets attended The Cadet Boating Station at Thrapston for a weekend of waterborne activities
